About AFEV
AFEV is a non-profit organization that promotes social equality by supporting young people from underserved neighborhoods. Through mentoring, tutoring, and community projects, AFEV connects student volunteers with children and teenagers, offering academic support and positive role models to help them build confidence and succeed in their studies and personal lives.
My Mentorship Journey
Mentoring is a unique support relationship where both mentor and mentee engage in mutual learning. The objective is to enhance the mentee's personal development and autonomy by setting specific and tailored goals.
As a volunteer student with AFEV, I dedicate two hours every week to assist a 9-year-old child named 'Jad' who faces educational challenges. The main purpose is to boost his self-confidence and stimulate his learning desire.
Beyond our regular homework sessions, Jad and I work together to promote cultural diversity, mobility, and plan for post-graduate education. We also do other activities, such as playing board games and practicing outdoor sports, to develop his social skills and overall well-being.
